The OPPS represents more than 6,000 private practicing ENT physicians across the U.S. supporting the unique challenges facing independent physician group practices.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/carolinaearnosethroat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/dr.melon_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carolinaearnosethroat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/dr.melon_.jpg 400w, https:\/\/carolinaearnosethroat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/dr.melon_-350x350.jpg 350w, https:\/\/carolinaearnosethroat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/dr.melon_-256x256.jpg 256w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Dr. Melon is the first to chair this newly formed national section. He serves as president and chairman of the Board of Carolina ENT and is the immediate past president of the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has also served two terms as chairman of the board of the Viewmont Surgery Center in Hickory.
