John W. Behnke
MD
John W. Behnke, MD, is originally from Columbia, South Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in Bible from Cedarville University in 2016. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for academic excellence and leadership. He completed residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at West Virginia University and is a board-eligible otolaryngologist.
Throughout residency, Dr. Behnke developed a comprehensive surgical skillset and cultivated a special interest in endoscopic sinus surgery and ear surgery, as well as complex procedures, including nasal septal perforation repair and functional septorhinoplasty. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally on topics ranging from pediatric chronic rhinosinusitis to free flap survival in head and neck reconstruction. He contributed to medical education and quality improvement as a member of both the Program Evaluation Committee and the Graduate Medical Education Committee at WVU.
