Dr. David Melon of Carolina Ear, Nose & Throat/Sinus and Allergy Center has been elected chair of the Otolaryngology Private Practices Section (OPPS) at the recent American Academy of Otolaryngology national meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. The OPPS represents more than 6,000 private practicing ENT physicians across the U.S. supporting the unique challenges facing independent physician group practices.
Dr. Melon is the first to chair this newly formed national section. He serves as president and chairman of the Board of Carolina ENT and is the immediate past president of the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has also served two terms as chairman of the board of the Viewmont Surgery Center in Hickory. Dr. Melon has been with Carolina ENT serving patients within this community for more than 11 years.
